She Divorced Me Because I Left Dishes by the Sink

This is one of the most profound posts I have seen AND from a male’s perspective!

Must Be This Tall To Ride

It seems so unreasonable when you put it that way: My wife left me because sometimes I leave dishes by the sink.

It makes her seem ridiculous; and makes me seem like a victim of unfair expectations.

We like to point fingers at other things to explain why something went wrong, like when Biff Tannen crashed George McFly’s car and spilled beer on his clothes, but it was all George’s fault for not telling him the car had a blind spot.

This bad thing happened because of this, that, and the other thing. Not because of anything I did!

Sometimes I leave used drinking glasses by the kitchen sink, just inches away from the dishwasher.

It isn’t a big deal to me now. It wasn’t a big deal to me when I was married. But it WAS a big deal to her.

I read that article and I would actually agree with the author, but there are some people (and some women) that taking the time and interest in a little act like putting the glass in the dishwasher is irrelevant, because they fail to see that you have taken interest in their concern – they move on to the next thing that dissatisfies them. And after that, you are moved on to the next item, and the next item and then the next item and before you know it you’re paying attention to so many little things to demonstrate respect and concern for your “partner” that you forget to put the damned glass in the dishwasher…again.

No…those women want a servant…there is a difference. That woman is a control freak and may have issues with anxiety (like OCD) and cannot deal with disorder. It can be a thin line to toe sometimes. You really have to know yourself and your spouse well enough.
Moreover, if it continues to go to ‘everything’ they may also have not been ready to commit to you as a person and only just realized it and outgrown you. Some relationships are lifelong while some are just for a season and if this was a rushed relationship that the other was not wholly committed or ready for maturity wise then they grew up and realized it ‘too late’ then they become the nagger because they cannot understand why everything is ‘wrong’. And it because this is the wrong relationship for them!

Thank you! I believe we have all been there at some point, just usually BEFORE marriage, but some do not figure it out before then sadly.

He does! I have used these exact words with my husband from the article about respect (having a background in psych) and he still thought it was about ‘the glass’…it took me asking for a divorce to wake him up..smh (I told him to read this article and maybe this would help.
